Thinking that having loud heavy machinery is not the best way to wake on a Saturday morning. My neighbour had the ground in her garden firmed for pavement laying an hour ago. Now I hear young men laying tiles. I would not have minded sleeping a bit longer, and waking a bit more gentle,

UGH! That is awful

I am dead tired. Full on day today. I have really bad hayfever too that has poleaxed me. Oh and sunburnt too.

On the plus side the kids had a good day and we watched Astroboy.
I like my kids to have a good weekend.
I also feel good about how I let them interact with their Mum and stepdad today at the fete. In the same situation in the past or similar ones they have not been so good and the kids will remember and see the more reasonable one. I also avoided having to do more than acknowledge the ex and her fella which was good.

I used to get that when I was a vegetarian.  It's dumb, but you'll always get it.  Some of it's defensiveness, and some of it is that being a vegetarian provides others around you with something very obvious to pick on you about.

Somewhat happy ex-veggie memory:  It was wicked gratifying when I'd started eating meat again and a friend who'd made fun of me for eschewing meat decided to go without for awhile.  I asked him several times to come to dinner with me and my friends.  We wanted to eat burgers in front of him.  I'm still sad it didn't end up happening.  At least I got to use the same "But meat is yummmmyyyy" taunts on him that he used to use on me.
