I was thinking about what I was doing last March. Usually I rent a cottage for 2 weeks while the kids are off school because I love going away to a place that has a ton of snow. This year I'm taking the kids to see my parents (GA) so I'll be snowless. But I'm a person who prefers to be in the middle of a blizzard instead of running away to a sunny place and skipping a season.

Last year I stayed in a place and got snowed in for 4 days. The snow was 6 ft high and that wasn't even the snow drifts. The snow drifts were close to 8ft high. I had to dig my way out the back door, dig a path to the pile of fire wood and bring in stacks at a time to let it dry out. The only source of heat was a woodstove and I became the queen of making kick ass fires. It was just me and the kids. I always stay well stocked on necessities in the winter for situations such as this so we stayed toasty warm inside until the snowplows could reach us and their crews could dig us out (the place was in the back country of the Haliburton Highlands). I wish I could have an adventure like that every year. 8)

For the first week I couldn't let the kids play in the snow because it was so deep I would have lost at least one of them. :laugh:

I think I have the softest skin on the planet right now. Lavendar brown sugar body scrub (all organic and paraben free) followed up by body fudge moisturizing lotion. Holy crap. I think I'm going to spend the rest of the night feeling myself. :lol:
