I couldn't agree less. I like being alone in them, setting my own hours, not having to deal with people if I don't want to. Esp. the "extended stay" hotels; all you have to do is tell them you don't want maid service and as long as you're willing to come to the desk to trade used towels and linen for fresh and pay your bill they'll leave you alone.

This just made me cry.  A man who took a polaroid a day, from 1979 till 1997 when he died of cancer.  It's so amazingly touching seeing someone's life chronicled like that.
