How do you know online if people would rather you didn't ask them about a certain topic? Without the body language how can you tell?

I can never tell in real life until its too late either. I'm worst at telling people too much about myself and not knowing when I'm telling them something they'd rather not hear. I'm also bad at knowing who the right people are too trust and end up regretting being so open with some people (IRL that is).

Do you find that you end up being taken for a ride by people because of your difficulties knowing who to trust? I tend not to bother with people in the real world anymore, but when I did everyone I made friends with just constantly dumped on me (baby sitting, borrowing money, etc, etc) without offering anything in return.

Little ol' trusting enthusiastic me! Nowadays as the stay home dad and househusband, I have the luxury of not having to bother with people IRL only in the minimal sense. I have some good close friends that I stay in touch with, who never screwed with my head or saw me as the "amusement" of their lives. I lost two "close friends"
after I discovered my AS and ADD. I am a very loyal friend and a trusting person. Now that I'm older, I find more solace and peace in solitude and the love of my wife and daughter, my wife's family and the few close friends who've proven themselves in the real world to me. Getting older does have it's advantages.
Now I am going to continue to sip this rather tasty single malt Irish Whiskey that my wife bought me for the day the world was graced with my presence. <insert puking emoticon here> (thats not for the whiskey, it is very tasty
)
