"Local sort" is what they call the department ay UPS (where my wife works) that unloads "feeder trucks,"  sorts packages and reloads the "hub shuttle" trucks. Feeder Truck drivers (like my wife - she's four years in and makes a good wage) start at twenty four dollars per hour (one of the elders makes sixty seven dollars per hour) and, because that "Local Sort" department is extremely short-handed, the expensive Feeder Truck drivers are required to unload and sort their own trucks, after they have gone into overtime working their regular shifts. Some of these guys are dragging their asses, working at half speed after a tough day and making thirty something to one hundred dollars per hour, because UPS can not seem to find potential employees who can pass the police investigation or the toxic substance screening processes.

They really need drivers/loaders who are clean and honest so they don't have to continue paying amazing amounts of overtime to the guys who pick up the packages (like my wife). She is getting lots of over time pay, right now, but I hardly ever see her.

my daughter has been sent home from school today, for "behavioral problems."

She's been a basket case since a kid's birthday party, Saturday, and cannot seem to quit stimming or talk about what has happened or eat normally. She's skinny as fuck, but normally eats like a man, growing like a weed!
I am overwhelmed, again, with trying to know fatherhood.  She may have dialed wrong.

She became a cat and "clawed" at other kids. I have not been able to find anyone who says that she actually touched another child, even after two hours on the phone.  She behaved "badly" (aside from normal) but no one was hurt.
Bad time for her, she's still recovering from a party we allowed her to attend (last one for a while) but I have not been able to get her to open her thinking about what may have happened.

Her IEP is due for renewing and consultation in about two weeks. I have quit trying to help her see that she writes backwards, because three of her teachers have said that she is "within the average range" with writing things oddly. I know for a fact she is dyslexic as fuck, but I can not get anyone in authority (or a position to help her) to see this. I send all her papers back with red circles around her backward writing with comments. I usually get a smiley face when they send the papers home again.
 


Oh, I have a three quarter inch stack of papers with her dyslexia (number, letter, locational, positional, time, and situational dysfunctions) circled and notated.
