sounds like the guy with a brain appreciates having a problem solver on his team, at least. supervisors usually equals half-bright monkeys with an attitude, unfortunately.
I'm sick of waking up in the night.
See that's what was worrying me so much. The middle management guy is an asshole and two thirds. He and I do not see things eye-to-eye most of the time. He is also a by-the-book, retired military, career sergeant (FFS) control freak, destined to remain in middle management.
Nobody told me I could do that shit and I had no idea what the problem was when I took it apart. All I really knew was that my so-called team mates were giving me a full ration of shit for even touching it. We are supposed to send it back, because "they can't be fixed in the field" (end quote!).
Once I figured out what it was doing, it was easy to fix, assuming you have access to the back channels (the internal parts) at the company website. I think they should allow someone on the redeye team to always have access to those areas, so those fucking pissy-assed little computer things CAN be fixed in the field.
(I may actually have pissed off a lot of people, but hopefully none of the wrong ones.
