I work with idiots, it seems.
I was a fly on the wall, yesterday, when a customer was being "helped" by two of the people who sell computers at the store where I work. The customer had bought, used, a computer like the ones we sell, a Toshiba laptop, but the original owner, being diligent with his personal security, had formatted the hard drive. The guy was there to buy Vista, upgrade version, and needed to find the proper drivers to load for all the included hardware, USB, network, graphics, audio etc.
THEY HAD A WORKING COMPUTER. JUST LIKE HIS, ON DISPLAY!!!!
They could not figure out how to make it give him the info he needed!
I was appalled! These "sales associates" had to call in the Geek Squad to help them with this basic customer service. It toook thirty minutes!! I could have done it in about a minute.
The customer left happy, but MY GAWD!! The TOIL!!
