The past is too important to let go.
It's all that we really have that's
certain. The future is unformed,
but the past is known.

[emo]  I agree with that to a certain extent, but there are things that I'd still like to be able to let go of (and by that I don't mean attempt to erase them completely), but just let go of them enough so they don't feel like a wound that you keep thinking has healed till you knock it on something and it starts bleeding again.  [/emo]

the past is done and it defines us too much if it does so in a negative way affecting our future and limiting our actions.

I should probably sleep more and post less. Especially on the music threads.

me too. of course people know they should let go of past issues. there's no way to change past issues. we can only change the way we see past issues and through that change them into something neutral or positive.

The past is too important to let go.

Maybe. Doesn't mean we can't enjoy
watching reruns of the failures in order
to be sure that what we are carving is
indeed new.

remembering the past is one thing. having it disable you in your present and future is something else. and so is obsessing over it. as with most things there should be a healthy balance. :bunny:

So says Aristotle. But, it may be
better to burn in impassioned

Trying to figure out what triggers allow a single eye to define what "in focus" means.  Seems sharpness has something to do with it, since pictures that are blurry confuse my eye.  However if that is true, then i've gotta figure out how to translate that into simple triggers.

So far i was thinking that if certain qualities bleed into each other in areas, the eye will attempt to adjust.  However there are plenty of objects with slowly changing appearance and that doesnt make the eye want to refocus.  It might be a question of how fine the bleeding needs to be to trigger a refocus.  You could probably describe where and how much a change occurs on those objects that doesnt require a refocus, but if you close one eye and look past your finger, the fuzzyness surrounding your finger is almost increscribably finely mixed.

Plus, whatever system I come up with I wont have to employ for the entire eye since it seems impossible to reflexively focus on objects in your peripheral vision.
