I'm more inclined to talk about quantum physics as a philosophy of sorts. There is a very exact science behind the mumbo-jumbo and yet the ramifications are more about philosophy, to many physicists, than science per se; but yes, they also do have things in common with Eastern mysticism.

Many of the consequences of applied quantum physics are against common sense. Classical mechanics do not apply so you have to find other ways to interpret what happens. Philosophy is one, mysticism is another, and the two have a lot in common.

Quantum physics was always my favourite course at the university.

yes, cos i find it utterly enthralling (and easy to get my head round, cos i was already into the supramundane).  i wasn't able to study it at uni, though, sadly.
