Rain, rain, go away ... NO! Check that - I am the horticultural GOD of Indiana. I went against the, local Purdue authority, calling my efforts a waste of time (I went to her for help) and I have successfully brought Dicentra cucullaria (dutchman's breeches) to flower from seed, on my own. I used a dug-up antbed, including crushed eggs and a queen, in the compost, thinking that the young seeedlings may require some perfect combination of N/P/K and ph which only the colonies can produce. It worked. I have four "rare in captivity", unique, endangered, flowering plants to brag about.
The real question is ... Can I bring the next generation to seeed from this generation's produce?
