I have never tried to grow khat. It looks like you have a good start. Hope it works for you.

So, it's legal to get seeds, but the plant is controlled?

Khat isn't controlled at all in the UK.  It's legal to buy the seed, grow it, consume it and sell it.  It'll probably be criminalised at some point though, for some ill-defined reason.

At least there's the beginnings of a debate on revising the UK classification system along more rational lines, although it could be decades before the politicians get their thumbs out of their arses.
