I've been thinking about my open back speakers and ways to improve them. I'm going to try a technique to further isolate sympathetic resonances between the motor structure and the baffle. I'm planning a rock solid mounting of the magnet (the main mass) and a soft, compressed rubber contact between the actual mounting surface of the driver basket and the wood of the baffle. My theory is that if the baffle is totally isolated from the mechanical movements of the driver, the only remaining forces to act upon the baffle will be acoustical, which can be further tuned or eliminated, almost completely, with additional mass in that area, as long as it is not in contact with the moving mass. Hope the weather holds.

How much more does the rest of the world hate america than it did 10 years ago?
And as always, these are simply my worthless opinions.

It's Women's History Month, last month was Black History month, and there are more special days, months, years for everyone who wants to be noticed. Fuck 'em! It's my turn to be noticed ...

For the next hour, it's Surviving, but Insignificant and Mostly Forgotten or Ignored White Male History Hour. Then you can have your month back - all "twenty eight days" of it.

(No, I'm not mad at women, I'm annoyed at the commercialisation of every fucking concept we can possibly imagine.)

Damnit, you're even more politically correct in that respect then we are here in Europe.

I think there should be a Heterosexual History Month. And an Asperger History Month, of course. Hans Asperger was born on February 18th, 1906. I think February should be the official Asperger History Month. And there should also be a special Litigious's Street Sign Blow Up day in October.  :evillaugh:

So, let's set up a .org and convince the general public to send us huge amounts of money to do research on ourselves and promote awareness of ourselves.

Toss offs, the lot of them.

Political correctness always makes me feel like puking. Like I wrote once, it's just inverted bigotism. Why don't they tell that blacks themselves held slaves in Africa and that Mexicans harrassed and killed Anglo-Americans in Texas, which was one of the reasons (but not the only one, though), that the Mexicans got their arses kicked by the US 160 years ago?

Agreed. Seems like everyone forgot that the first slave traders to get rich in a deal were the Africans who were selling each other to whoever was interested. Oftentimes, it was a family member who was for sale, first. ... and the reason the extermination squads were formed in Texas was to offset the Mexican extermination squads who were raiding and killing settler's in their homes. Not everyone cared whether Texas was a state of the USA or an independent nation. Most people, settling in Texas during that part of history, just wanted to live free, without being fucked with, anymore.

I think it'd been great if Texas would've remained an independent republic, including the areas that were ceded from Texas to the Union in 1850. Though it most probably would've been annexed to the US by force. The violet area on this map is the territory of "Big Texas", just after the Mexican war.

California was trying to be an Independant Republic too. That's where the Cali state flag comes from.

The citizens of Texas voted for U. S. annexation and statehood, although they retain the right to divide into four additional states.

Very cool! I used to have a whole book full of those old Bombay maps. I love them. I also kept most of the maps from about fifteen years of subscribing to National Geographic, too, especially anything Indian related. *I had to get rid of my "Library" when we moved to this (much smaller, but more affordable) house.
