I suppose it isn't for everybody, but if the dog has serious behavioral problems and is making life difficult,
maybe it is necessary to teach him who is the real "pack leader." I am a softie myself with the dogs I take care of.  :heart:

Tend to be a softie concerning dogs too but.. ?

Well, I've work in a shelter for domestic animals like cats, wabbits, ferrets, birds, etc... but also dogs.. and well, we all got along just fine. Yeah, maybe I was the pack leader and sometimes the dog needs to listen but again..

I just think it's better to gentle (and patiently) show the animal the right way.. rewarding 'good' behaviour and such than to do it his annoying way..

(tjah, remains those with serious behavioural problems.. that can be tough to resolve in a kind gentle manner maybe.. )

(still, not my cuppa.. )

I haven't personally seen Millan being unkind to a dog, just firm and consistent. If he were hitting them I'd hate him of course.  :chin:

I've seen him jerk lines with those nasty spikey neck-things quite hard.. or use those necklaces that give little shocks..

He's not breaking the dog's will. He's balancing the dog by emulating the behavior of a pack leader in the wild. The guy realizes that dogs can't think like humans, so he thinks like a dog.

I've properly started taking my god out again now :)

I took her to the park again today although not for long as it was freezing and my pants wwere rubbing against my legs and most of the other doggies had gone home coz I was too slow eating my dinner
