My father-in-law is dying. They let him go home from the hospital, not because he was better but because there wasn't much they could do and he desperately wanted to get home.

Now that he's back home he's given up. He's too weak to drink without help, even, so he's probably going any day now. :(

Grandfather died in a hospital. I knew he wanted to die at home but they chose to keep him.  :(

Sometimes there's no choice. Although i believe in my father-in-law's case it's more of a numbers game.
