Lets see, chamoile tea only brews part of herb and wastes the rest, however, if one ingestes too much chamomile, one will throw up. Ginger makes me fuckn horny, has adaptogenic effects, and is a great antioxidant. Ginger is a cheep ginseng for me. Chamomile promotes sweating, releasing toxins through the skin, but ginger also is cleanser. Both help digestion, but ginger may just be cheaper, the powdered spice.
Ground it into a powder gives a greater surface area for enzymes to attack, resulting in faster digestion and absorption.
