That was in Grand Forks, ND where I lived for a few years with my dad and stepmom. This thread appeared about a month ago on the Electrical Audio forum. -- Back in the day,(Circa 1986) Fugazi, Dag Nasty, and a lot of the DC bands started playing music that was differant than  the metalcore that that was taking over the punk scene. --It's a shame that scene has degraded to stupid bullshit such as this.

Metalcore is whatever, seems watered down as both metal and punk.   I think it is rarely done right.   I prefer either straight up metal or punk usually.   Fugazi was cool though I never listened to Dag Nasty or any other DC area bands.    I do like some Grindcore though, which is both metal and hardcore in some ways (Carcass for example).
