Ah the big book is a good place to start.   I wish you the best of luck with your foray into AA.   Just keep going to meetings, get a good sponsor you can related to, and try to find a good homegroup.   I haven't been to my homegroup in over a year, that is really bad.   They are some really good people, I chose a smaller group of tight knit people for my homegroup instead of one of the massive meetings.   I don't have a sponsor myself anymore, last time I talked to the guy was months ago.

I haven't been going because I am lazy and I am not really trying to stay sober at the moment.   I still smoke weed daily and drink several times a week.   There would be no point in going there and lying to them about my desire to be sober.    When I actually feel the need to remain sober, then I will go back there on a regular basis.   Though they would tell me to "fake it until you make it".
