I assumed you already knew.
I downloaded mine from torrent. The actual installation doesn't bother checking for EFI (mac's version of BIOS, basically), but you'll need to either burn a modified version of the disc to include an EFI emulator or get one of the hackintosh distros off torrent otherwise OSX won't boot. The latter is far easier. If your PC has an intel processor (pentium 4 up), then you can go ahead and install without initial modification to the kernel. If it's an AMD processor, you'll have to modify/patch the kernel which will make OSX a bit more unstable.
Also, updating on either vanilla or patched kernel versions of OSX on your PC will more than likely make it stop booting. Apple's trying their best to not let their code run on their enemie's machines.
