Damn right! It's their world, we just live in it. 
now, im a firm believer in moderation in everything. i love animals, but i partake in eating them. same w plants.
if my cat owns me (cus thats what we say about cats), then i own her back, which cancels it out, and none of us own the other (which is actually quite close to the truth, i took her from a good but irresponsible guy who neglected her (adhd and tons of it))
i feed her, and sometimes she tries to feed me. she chases intruders away from the garden, but if its too much for her to handle (fox, badger, bigger cat) i go outside, and snarl and hiss like a mad-man
