The coffee shop I go to I get  " Where's George?" stamped on them frequently. It's a site that will track your bills so you can see  where they go. http://www.wheresgeorge.com/

I tracked a couple and they mostly came from a town 20 minutes to the east along the highway I figure he must work down this way sometimes

Our money (Australian) is plastic so it would be hard to tear holes in it. I have seen a fair few notes all taped up, though. Once there is a tiny tear they just rip apart.

Our money gets replaced really soon if it has something written on it, or signs of wear and tear. Seems also to help against fake money.

It's ugly since we have the euro. I miss the nice bills we had before. They were stronger too. Much better quality paper used as a base.
