Could we hope for that?
I can do upside down chocolate moo things!
We just walk over the border to Norway as well. One of my dad's friends has his house immediately to the border.
Such pretty countryside...I don't know what I was expecting, vast frozen fjords I suppose.
Yes, here too, there are farmers with land on both sides of the border. No problem. I once went with the family of a friend to do grocery-shopping in Germany. I had no passport with me, but who cared, you never got checked. That time we did get checked. They wanted to see everything in the car. We had to get out. All bags had to be opened. But somehow it did not bother the customs that there were five people in the car, and only four ID's. They did not even mention it.
The only passports controls I remember are those to France, the UK and the GDR. There was hardly any difference between getting into France and into the GDR.Heavily armed men and dogs. Getting out of France was easier than getting out of the GDR though. Apparently they were not afraid we'd smuggle people or things out of France.

When you get to the Frankfurt airport from abroad nowadays, German shepherd dogs sniff you and they X-ray your shoes.
