It was a good trip, that one. We also passed over Greenland. The glaciers were awesome. They're probably gone now, though. :(

That must have been awesome.  When I flew out to California for my 30th birthday, I got a real good view of the size of the Grand Canyon...even from that High up there was no mistaking what it was. :o

I want to go

Look here and you can see pictures of all Colorado's 14000 foot mountains:

Move your mouse over the names and you will see the pictures.

Edit:  The picture above is of the San Juan Mountains, which are in southwestern Colorado.

You could fly into Denver, rent a car and drive about five hours to get there.  I think it is just about as far from Santa Fe, New Mexico.

I'v seen part of the San Juan Mountains when I was standing on top of Capulin Volcano in North east New Mexico.  It was an incredible view, you could even see into Texas from the crater rim.

I'm jealous I have never seen real mountains  only what passes for them in the East

Once you'v seen the mountains of New Mexico, Montana, Idaho and the Canadian Rockies......well, our Eastern Mountains look like foothills.

I flew to Vancouver a few years ago. On its descent to Vancouver Int. Airport, the plane flew over--or rather, between--the Rockies. I've never seen anything like it.

Pretty damned impressive. I want to see the alps though.

I've actually seen them, too. Passed above them on my way to Barcelona once. Pretty damned impressive but they couldn't match the Rockies.
