I remember the cool, nearly silent electric trains in Calgary, Alberta. I was most impressed seeing people pick up trash that others had dropped accidentally. Most Americans don't fucking do that. I would eat off the floors of the train cars, almost.

We have electric trains here in Western Australia. Probably not as clean as the ones in Canada, heh.

I have been on the trams in Melbourne. They were cool. Public transport is one of my interests.

Oh yeah. Something about the way the buses (in Australia, or at least the Sydney area) look on the inside  also make me feel like I'm on a safari or something.  :laugh: Remember, I'm from the NJ/NY area. :P

DirtDawg, I never saw anyone cleaning other people's trash in Australia, but they do seem to care about the environment there a hell of a lot more than they do here.

When GA and I were in Victoria, we travelled from Melbourne to Geelong on a diesel train.

Freight trains here run on diesel as well.
