And so does Stella!  And Etoile (there's supposed to be an accent over the E
but I don't know how to do that on my English-speaking keyboard.  :dunce: )
Ètoile? Êtoile? Étoile? Ëtoile? I used Character Map on my computer to get those letters.
The third one.  Is Character Map difficult for n00bs to use?  :orly:
You go to Start, click on that and type in Character Map where it says "Search programs and files" and press enter and a little window with the Character Map will pop up. You can select the letters by clicking on them and they will show in the "Characters to copy" bar below. Then you click on Copy, then you can paste them wherever you want. Hope I have explained it ok heh.

Yes, you have, thank you.  Now my computer will be able to speak French!   :eiffel:

Whenever I want to find an accent, I go to google and purposefully spell it wrong. When it tries to be a smart ass and correct me, I copy it.

Never thought of doing it that way.

This is sort of how I get images for avatars; I do an image search and copy them straight from the Google page as they are the right size already.

Kayleigh named her rats Olive, Jadzia and Ezri. Two DS9 names. Since watching that I have always liked Nerys.

I gave The PR a beautiful first name.  I hate the nickname she came up with.

Eleanor to Nellie.

She's named after Eleanor of Aquitaine.  I used to affectionately call her CinderEleanor.

I shortened my name to Zanne. I am pretty sure my mum is not in full favour of it.

I like Eleanor. It's pretty.

thank you.  Eleanor of Aquitaine is my favorite historical figure.  That woman was BADASS.

Never cared for shortened name nicknames, especially cutesy immature sounding ones with a y sound on the end. It's okay if people choose it themselves, but some people just get stuck with them. Can remember in highschool a friend's brother wanted people to start calling him Tim, but he was stuck with Timmy because that's how he was always known. Both kids have names with the potential of cutesy sounding nicknames, but was firmly against it when they were growing up. The oldest decided to take a cutesy nickname in middle school, and then grew sick of it after a year, but by then it was too late. Fortunately we moved soon after and she got to start over, lesson learned. The move also prompted the youngest to start over too and change to a shorter version of his name, but not a cutesy sounding name.

The exception to that, would be a couple I knew when younger. They named their girl Francis after a grandmother, and decided to call her Fancy. That seemed acceptable because Francis is a horrible name.

My first step dad's surname was Francis. I've seen the name spelt as Frances as well.

Ah, you're right, Frances is the female version. Fanny is one of the female nicknames, which is also horrible, so Fancy seemed a creative choice.

Ugh, Fanny is horrible. Used to read about a character called that in Enid Blyton books.

Nellie chose this name when she started at a new school in 2005.  Before that her nickname was Ella.

I respect her choice of Nellie, but call her Nell most of the time.
