it was painted in the mid seventies.  maybe that was the % back then.

possibly.  it depends on the purpose of the painting, the artist's intent, or the point s/he was trying to make.

thought provoking, though, which is always good.  it reminds me of fruit, for some reason, which makes me laugh, considering the use of the word in the states.
