Some of it can be interesting and yet utter tosh too, from an art perspective in relation to the comics some of it can be quite cool, i grew out of that animation type of stuff along time ago.
Alot of the fans are just that fans and have a deep interest, theres nothing wrong with that its not as if its harmful or anything lol, i prob have some odder interests. I do think there are some fans who are just trying to block out the real world they feel uncomfortable with or unrelated to, cant cope with etc so absorb themselves into this unreal fantasy anime/related animations world they feel comfortable/secure with etc, especially in relation to the female characters etc because they are inapt at dealing with or feel threatened/uncomfortable by real women (prob due to real world expectations etc) and so on, in turn they end up a bit well ahem you get the idea.
But you get people who absorb themselve into many areas and things to hide from the real world and things attached to it, including people at times. So leave the japanese animation fan kids alone.
