a term which others might confuse is no reason to be an ass.

actually, cal is right, hadron.  all numbers are imaginary in the same sense that words are imaginary, in that they are mere symbols to which commonly agreed values or meanings are assigned, or which represent - again, by common agreement - a thing or concept.

It depends how you look at it, and your perspective on it. The application of number to make things work certainly isnt imaginary, otherwise most buildings wouldnt hold up, etc.
