Don't really know, but may be in for one myself.

Finally got a chance to tear down mine.




Chances of me re-soldering the 2 bad inductors (was hoping it was just one) and getting this thing back together again without breaking something aren't really in my favor. :P

Mine likely needs a new motherboard; they're cheap without the processor but I need one of those too. $400 if I lose the fight with the warranty company.
If I win I am putting Windows 7 on because I heard it runs a lot cooler than Vista. 50F reduction in some cases.

Windows 7 seems to stress out the computer less than Vista did
