I made a bid for fun on Marktplaats on a box with spinning related stuff. Could not see all that was in it, but recognised one thing that was absolutely worth more than what the former bidder had suggested, and that I would not mind having.
So, just for fun I offered €15, it was overbid the day after. To my amazement, I got it.
There is loose weaving stuff in the box, that I cannot use, there are display plates for all kinds of rope (shop? school?) and there was an umbrella wool winder, a cake winder and two niddy noddies, all complete and working well. Three spools that do not fit my spinning wheel, but may fit one of someone I know.

Kid and I had fun this morning, using the stuff we could use.

I should bid for fun more often.

Last week I offered a price for a spinning wheel, because I saw a trader had made a ridiculously low bid. And I made one higher bid once after that. Then two traders were taking over and the price sky-rocketed. Hyke is no rich bovine, so I let it be.
Could use a second spinning wheel though. Kid picked up the virus.

Yesterday I got an email, it is mine, if I want it, for a price lower than I offered. And it comes with four bobbins in total, a simple lazy kate and a set of carders. All that for €40.

The price had gone up over €100 since I last checked.

It will probably need some TLC, but the model is one that can be taken apart and put back together again easily.

Now only have to think on how to get it here. No car and such. :P

And, she is here.
Was not allowed to pay the price we had agreed on. If I had tried, I probably would have gotten it for free. Too nice a woman selling it.
It will need some TLC indeed. New bushings, a new drive band, and a new connecting bit between treadle and footman.
The ball bearing in the centre of the wheel is still in perfect shape though. So no issue there at all. And the treadle has a nice height and feel.

So, now I have to find a supplier for plain bushings. One that does not only sell by packages of a hundred at a time.

Going to buy a new keyboard today. Bought one just a couple of weeks ago that's driving me crazy since the spacing seems to be just a bit off.

A laptop. Nothing fancy, just something basic to do the job it needs to do. Mine bit the dust last year so I was waiting for a good back to school sale.

What did you get her?

Something pink? Or is she one of the few girls of that age not completely into pink?

Oh no, she's a real girly girl . I asked her mummy what she needed and based on that I got her two nice skirts.

Two mandala colouring books. Apparently colouring books are all the rage now for adults. A number of magazines have brought out their version of book. I bought my friend an animal one for $10 and she is very happy with it.

I LOVE colouring! I have a mandala one too. Psychologist's are saying that the effects of it are like a physical meditation. It's good for lowering anxiety and stress. I know how good actual meditation can be but my ADD brain keeps rebelling when I try to do it in the traditional sense, but this works for me.
