Highlighters.  6 packs of 6 colors.  New, crisp highlighters make me happy.

Very particular about office supplies; when complimented on them have been known to say, it's the little things. Have a preference for the sharpie accents highlighters with fluid inside. They have small precision tips and can be left uncapped without drying up. Don't often use highlighters, but when I do, liquid highlighters make me happy.

Office-supply-nerds have opinions on strange things.  Are you a "neon yellow" or a "golden yellow"?

Neon.

However can't stand neon highlights in spreadsheets, and most often color cells with a light powder blue. Don't really like colorful data but sometimes it's a necessity, and pastel colored worksheets are much more soothing to review than alarming shades of neon or red, which most other people seem to prefer to use. Though of course, that's not about office supplies and actual highlighters.

Neon yellow is the default highlight color in excel, so that probably has more to do with it's usage. Generally don't wish to alarm people with my work, so use soothing colors for their benefit as well as my own. Some people don't realize the impact of color. A co-worker had her email set to red text for unread messages; it may have even been the default but can't remember. Told her that her inbox looked very alarming and emergent. She changed it and then later noted to me, it was much less stressful to look at.

My grandmother was color blind...she always referred to anything red as pink. Painted her kitchen ceiling a "nice shade of pink" one year, looked like something out of Amityville horror. :P

Bought 100 retaining wall blocks today, a box of sleepytime tea, and some waders for the SO.

Interstellar on Blu-ray.  :headbang2:

There are some interesting interpretations of modern physics in that film, but I love playing it loud.

Great movie!

I'm torn. On one hand, the physicist in me cringes when watching it (and I don't care that Kip Thorne was involved; he clearly lost some of his arguments). On the other, I enjoy the ride and love the storytelling.

My latest pet peeve about the film concerns the blu-ray edition's use of more than one aspect ratio. The Imax sequences have kept their 1.85 ratio while the rest of the movie is in 2.35. Annoying as hell. To complicate things, I originally saw a 70mm presentation that was in 2.21--this is the standard 70mm aspect ratio.

:GA:

I just love that big budget sci-fi is back for the moment.  I also loved Gravity.  The "fantasy" stuff, (Star Wars, Star Trek, etc.) is fun, but doesn't hit me in the same place.

Totally agree. I love big budget SF.

There are lots of things I like in Interstellar, btw, so don't get me wrong. I really, really like Cooper station, to take one example, because clearly someone did his homework.

An expensive duvet cover and pillow shams, a lovely tray to put on the ottoman, some books.  All from the thrift store and saved the usual wad of money.
