Thanks everyone. It just sucks that the generation above mine is basically abdicating their responsibility. They will show up to collect the (very large) sum of money when it is all over, but ask them to show up and act like they give a damn and they are nowhere to be seen.

The Mormons are on my mother's side. They are both dying right now, but my paternal grandfather seems to be going much more quickly and is far more distressed about it.
