Sweden once had the biggest copper mine in the world. Actually the whole county of Dalarna was re-named after it and re-gained it's old name as late as 1997.

Sweden and Nazi Germany were two of the first contries in the world to incorporate big rural areas into towns. The whole Karlskoga Hundred was incorporated into the town of Karlskoga already in 1940. The Swedish town of Kiruna was in 1948 the largest incorporated town in the world, counted in area. Now Archangelsk is the biggest.

Sweden has 13 dioceses, most of which are based on the medieval provinces. The oldest one is the archdiocese of Lund, founded in 1060, the youngest the diocese of Stockholm, from 1942.

Thought the cheese slicer was a Dutch invention.. well, turns out a Norwegian carpenter created the thing in 1925..
