It's the old Midsummer Day today. The 24th of June was Midsummer Day in Sweden until 1953, despite the fact that the calender was changed already in 1753, so that the summer solstice is always on June 21th since 1753.

We get drunk alright but fireworks are for New Year's Eve and Easter.  ;)
