A couple of years ago, I was doing two or three hours per week of volunteer work for the school my kids attend. They told me one day that they did not need me anymore. I was BUMMED!

Today, my wife started the same thing at the new school. This seemed like a really uplifting thing for her. I'm not sure what she will be doing, but hopefully, she will have the opportunity to get to know more closely the teachers who are working with our kids, as I did before.
She gets karma, at least!

When my mom recently came to visit, she brought me several pounds of pistachios from the Pistachio Tree Ranch growers in New Mexico.

Last Thursday, my wife went in to the school to do some volunteer work and was not busy at all, so she doodled.

She does glass etching in her spare time and has been trying to draw an etchable scene with a water mill, stream, fence, winding road thing. Problem with etching is that too much detail destroys it. She went back today and found that the office ladies had pulled her doodling out of the recycle bin, framed them and hung them on the wall.

She was a little embarrassed. They were doodles that she threw away. Why would someone do this?

I think it's a matter of supply-and-demand: in their little spheres, even throwaway creativity is too valuable to waste. There's no thought of the artist's desires or property rights because once it's in the trash it's assumed to be given up.

Having no regard for the artist's rights, came first to my mind.

You are probably right. I had not thought of the supply and demand of creativity.
For a long time, I thought everyone was as creative as those I worked around.
