These past two months have been an incredible learning experience for my son and I.

As he approaches his manhood, he is curious about his heritage. He is demanding to know about his family history.

My father died on the third of July 1998. We buried him on the sixth of July along with all the distractions that are common in Texas on Independence Day. It was a nightmare, truly.
My son want now to know who he was. How do I do this? I have an hard time relating anything about what a fucking awesome man my father was.

I want to give him the whole story. His great grandfather killing one of his best own friends defending a family who lived in his barn, while his "friends"  were wearing white hoods and hating blacks for no reason. Even HIS uncles and great uncles who were Texas Rangers in the 1880s and helped to make Texas safe for people to farm and ranch.

I have shown my son pics of all these people he is descended from and he still wants more.

Useless fact?

My son has become obsessed with his heritage.

I used to eat it then I got a mouthful of some that was way past it's expiration date,  I had a bad cold at the time so there was no warning, now even twenty some years later the thought of eating it turns my stomach :zombiefuck:

Can't do sweet goo of any sort. Had stomach problems as a child and had to eat baby food for about a year or so; ruined me for it. My first encounter with an éclair was traumatizing. Sweet goo is horrible, but hidden surprise sweet goo is the worst.

Did you know.. that most Japanese 'in-crowd' sumo-wrestlers are quite pervy homosexuals? :løl:

Like really fat ones..

Or, like catholic priests (incluis other upwards licking clergy in that niche) it's an all male group/bonding thing, isn't it?

Hahahaha..

Putting a super slinky thin iphone 6 in your back pocket,  which ideally should be in the area of your fat, round botty cheeks, will cause it to bend a little

:o     this has been a surprise result for some people

Found a reference to one of my great great uncles online. (do not really want to identify my family so well, but, ...)

My son was amazed to find this ancient Texas history read out as I have described it to him.  The killer point was that an old pic I have from my family's archives (which my Mom keeps at this point in time) was posted from a newspaper about my great uncle killing this bad guy from 1887. My Mom has the original metal rendering of this image that the newspaper published.

Things like this have really helped my son to solidify his place AND helped him to see the possibility of a future, instead of just dismissing the idea of future as bullshit.

 :hahaha:

Apple claims that a total of nine people have contacted them about this.

I'm not sure what they were expecting, tbh. It's an expensive little gadget and certainly not the only one that can bend when handled carelessly.

Went out and paid to shoot at a public range, FUCK!! Spent almost thirty bucks for a half hour, FUCK

I allowed my son to shoot a 22LR semi-auto pistol (it was a really old Ruger Mark II) AND a 22LR semi-auto carbine (nothing else like it - a simple 10-22 Ruger - pretty much the best of the best until you get into serious target shooting) for his first time out.

Hard to say much, but he was happy and wants to do this again, soon.

I just used paper targets. What is he going to be like shooting a real rifle at a jug of painted water or something as similar to a human body. What is he going to feel when he experiences the raw power and the amazing array of diverse weapons his father owns?

We have begun to explore.
