The closest really big city from where I live is Hamburg. Sweden doesn't have really big cities like the UK, continental Europe, Canada or the US.
I was born in Hamburg

It was a lot different back in 1950

Were you born on a military base?  And do you speak any German?   :orly:

In the Roman Empire a region was a subdivision of a province. Today it's usually the other way around.

Region has to do with rex and regina as well as Reich. They are all cognates.

The first province outside Italy Proper was Gallia Narbonensis or Provincia. Today the northeastern part of Provincia is French Provence.

Until Anschluß all of Austria but upper Carinthia had traffic on the left side of the road. The Austrians got one day to change to driving on the right side. Because of this thirteen German soldiers were killed in traffic accidents.

Since 1884 all historical provinces in Sweden are titular duchies. In Finland only four are titular duchies, while five are titular counties. Out of the administrative counties only Blekinge and Gotland in Sweden and Åland in Finland have exactly the same boundaries that they have when they were created, although most Swedish counties roughly correspond with the historical provinces. Until 1967 Skåne, Halland and Småland also exactly corresponded to the counties that they were divided into. The county of Östergötland corresponded exactly to the historical province except that the county also encompassed the parish of Kvarsebo and a few villages in Närke.

Iesus is usually counted to the fourth Latin declension, but it doesn't follow the usual pattern of that declension due to the word being an Arameic/Hebrew loan word. It's Iesus in nominative and Iesum in accusative. In all other cases it's Iesu. In the Nordic languages and German the genitive and vocative Jesu is sometimes still used.

'jesu' is the form I knew it/use it in, almost entirely as part of a blasphemous curse/expression of frustration/anger/surprise.

Semi-useless fact: I have a short, narrow vein just to the left of my left forefingers knuckle that stays put when it gets colder. Most of the rest seem to head south for the winter and stay deep down and a real fucking nuisance to aim for. Its really a bloody fiddly one though, I can reliably hit it, but it demands I keep the angle absolutely precise, and the depth of the needle has to be perfect, 1mm either way and it goes either too shallow or too steep an angle and I can't draw blood back into my syringe (called registering the shot, slight vacuum is applied with one finger on the plunger of one's rig, not much, just a little, so as soon as the tip enters the target vein, blood will flow backwards into the solution)

Once that happens then I know I won't miss and shoot anything subcut (subcutaneous, an infection risk with anything not sterilized, although I do sterilize my IV solution using single-use sterile 0.2 micron filters that plug onto the end of a rig. Subcut shots hurt, so even with for ex. a vet-grade vial of K I would avoid that route; deliberately at least, although I've missed a fair few times when learning to shoot, and when doing methoxetamine or PCP derivatives....lol its bloody difficult enough to put the goods int a vial, open a glass amp of sterile water without spilling it everywhere thanks to vision going all squirrelly, body going numb, and depth perception being fucked up beyond any hope of recognition, I typically preload a few boosters for if I want them later, and stick to IM only, after the 1st or maybe second, despite how much I hate IM'ing anything.)

And yay...I found an oxy 40 that I didn't even know I had. Done half, still cooking the rest...an appetizer before the main meal so to speak :D (I.e my strawberry cream drink, the rest of the OC, a low dose of chlormethiazole, and some clonidine, with an antihistamine to lessen any itching caused by the opioid. And to boot, the damn synthetic skin graft thingy I'm stuck with at the moment, that itches like all fuckdom, I have a hunch I may be allergic to the glue.

And ooh yay...I just worked out that I'd run out of meds on a weekend, which means I can go get them earlier, tomorrow. which means 3 days worth of OC to play with 'free' (well, I get all my meds for no cost, but I mean, without having to worry about supply running out.) and that I can shoot 80mg rather than just 1 40. Sure, one pill alone is nice but it just doesn't hit the spot.
