Now that is not so bad. But my brother almost has the same phone number as the dentist too, and he lives in the same village.

New Orleans was named for the Duc d'Orleans (masculine) but has feminine endings in the French name, La Nouvelle New Orleans.

Bogesund, a small town in Västergötland, was renamed into Ulricehamn in 1741 to honour the passed away widow queen Ulrika Eleonora.

The only languages that still have the old Germanic name for a physician are the Scandinavian languages and Polish - läkare, leger etc. In Polish it's a loan word, of course. Not even German has the original name. German uses the word Artzt, which is old Greek for "the eldest".

In German you can make every masculine noun concerning occupation, ethnicity, ranks, social status etc into a feminine one. When you use the noun collectively for men and women, you capitalize the feminine suffix, like this for example: BürgerInnen=male and female citizens.
