The house across the street from me is vacant because they couldn't keep up the the payments now it for sale. Too bad they were at least tolerable
You should buy the house, if you like the neighborhood!
I hate my neighborhood!
well, except for a few of the neighbors.
It's really the fucking through street they have amde (used to be a quiet streeet!) that I really hate.
I want to move everybody is too close here and it's getting snobby. My street has been made the new through street too when I moved here it was very quiet
That happend about six years ago to us. It has now been discovered that you can bypass the town at high speed, if you whip down our street.
I actually went to the city council meetings a few years ago to get something done about it. I wanted a twenty five mile speed limit, more fourway stops and a couple of speed bumps in the residential portions.
They laughed, under their breath and told me to accept progress. I tried to organize some of the neighbors into a committee (along with my neighbor across the street) and they continued to flip us off, (even though there were fifteen residents at their meeting! It's a very small town) by telling us that this street must be kept open for the police and emergency vehicles. We tried to point out the OTHER main street, two blocks away and zoned commercial(!!) that the council already GAVE to the Firestone plant as a thoroughfare for their employees to zip through town to the Firestone plant. That wasn't good enough! They still want our street. (My wife's mom was living here, then, when this started, and that was all before they widened the street. This all happened over about four years, after which we moved into this house, due to finances. I could no longer afford two houses, after losing my job.)
So, I proposed that the whole DAMN street be re-zoned as commercial property. That would slightly raise the land value for all the ones who are most annoyed by the extra traffic and make it possible for us to sell at a profit and get out. NO! They won't do that either.
It has been a nightmare! I never ever want anymore to do with city politics.
