Yes, I really recommend you do this. If he is not a specialist, he may be able to refer you to one. Eyesight is precious, you should look after it as best you can.

I had eye operations for a squint when I was a baby and started wearing glasses at about the age that you did. I also had to wear patches over my right eye to make the left eye work when I was about five and it drove me nuts. My left eye is not as bad as yours, I don't think, but I was told that if I lost my right eye for any reason, I wouldn't be allowed to drive.
Has your vision changed much over the years? I have learnt that during puberty, eyesight can change a lot. It also changes for almost everyone at about the age of 40.
