Do you believe that some form of morality (not the ability to accept morality, but actual moral tendencies) can be, or is, present in humans regardless of what they have been taught and exposed to? In simplistic terms, are some morals hard-wired in some or all humans? Elaborate on this your answer as much as you like.
Humans have different views on what morality is, so that's a tough question. I'm leaning towards morals being learned. In children, morality stems from learning to empathize. Before children learn empathy, they only worry about what the consequences of their actions are going to be, rather than why what they're doing is morally wrong. They also may learn certain morals from their parents.
While I believe empathy and morality are mainly learned, immorality can be somewhat biological. For example, psychopaths have problems empathizing due to mental illness and therefore see nothing wrong with killing people, which is highly immoral to most people.
This could be argued and I could be wrong though, and I don't think it's impossible for children to have inborn morality and empathy. It's just something that takes time to develop in most people, and doesn't develop at all in some.
