I was going to stay around a week. 8 or 9 days at most. My visit isn't completely certain, as there are a lot of logistics to figure out. If I go, at least part of the time would be at a hotel, though he's offered me to stay at his house the entire trip.

True, but then you get 8...and many people actually think of 13 as unlucky...hence friday the 13th.
