I'm so happy how far I have gone and I am finally off of getting money from SSI but still with them. I have gained a little more independance because I make more money than I did in Montana and don't need help from the gov. to help support myself. I just hope I will become more indepenant as the years go by. I do want to work and have wanted to since I was 15 but my parents said "no." Two reasons: I was still a kid and they didn't want me rushing to be an adult so soon, I had very bad anxiety back then and hadn't learned to cope with it yet so they knew me going to school and having a job would be too much.

Surprising eh that I wanted a job. I'm so happy now that I work, I don't want to live my life on SSI, not very much money and I get bored with so much time on my hands. I remember how boring my life was when I was 19 and I was struggling finding a job even though I worked at a thrift shop but not very long each day. I wanted more money and I felt lazy without a real job. I do feel sorry for people who have to live their life on Disability and can't have a job. I didn't want that to be me so I fought hard to keep trying and I made it through. My boss worked with me was why. I don't think I would have gotten that here.

Funny thing is that just about any government
action is a redistribution of wealth. Money goes
into improvement projects, bringing more jobs
to an area, and driving up the wages. How is this
different from just giving people money? NY state
was a big loser in the federal handout scheme, but
people from the states which netted the most would
always complain about how it was a drain on the nation.
States with huge military bases, or boondoggles, but
a lower cost of living.
