I think SteveK has a good point, you act like being on SSDI is a great thing and it's really not. Plus it's not really "free money" it's money you, I, and everyone else working in the US have to pay into. Sure you got a nice backpay, but after that how are you supposed to live on 863 a month or whatever it is you get? thats $10,356 a year, the poverty line for a single person is $10,210, do you really want to be making just over poverty the rest of your life? Don't you have any goals and ambitions to better yourself?
I was on SSDI for a while but I still worked part time plus I recently got a really good job so will be off it soon, and it feels good.
I can understand your relief in finally getting the money your entitled to as I know it can be quite a fight sometimes, but this is certainly not something to brag about.
