as far as i'm concerned, seeing as how students now have to fucking well pay for higher education, it's a consumer's market, and they can demand what they want, and expect to get it. how can you put a value on a "subject"? i'm a subscriber to the "trained minds" school, personally, but that's no longer possible, given the introduction of fees. after all, a lot of the people who whinge about "non-subjects" have Classics degrees. irony, anyone?
