I'm poor but I'm not stupid, I just have more important priorities than money in my life.

Obviously. I too am poor. But, those who care little about money
aren't likely to risk armed revolt for the sake of some. Things have
to get pretty damned bad for a rebellion to occur due to lack of
material goods.

I agree but it isn't always stupidity that stops them from doing so, more that some place importance on things other than money.

Always wondered about the whole power corrupts,
absolute power corrupts absolutely thing. If one actually
were an absolute ruler, how could they be corrupted?
Whatever they will is the good, after all.

absolute power corrupts absolutely states a tendancy about humanity.  Absolute power doesnt not corrupt asbsolute ALL the time.  There have been benevolent(relatively) dictators before.  But the vast majority of absolute rulers have corrupted.  It has to do with the fact that most of the people who have the motivation to actually take over a large group of people are not the type of people who are doing it to be benevolent.

I started this thread, because like McJ, I have a passion for the well-being of the working class. I believe that we are Western Civilizations Miners Canary. If we fall into poverty, then the middle class will be right behind us.

The weakness of Capitalism is that it soonser or later devolves into Feudalism. I don't want to live to see that day happen.

I'm thinking that's why the ruling elites in America want to import all these poor uneducated Mexicans ino our country. The locals are wising up and demanding higher wages and this is how they counter-punch.

I think that's kind of the same reason why they drag the Muslims etc. into Europe. We are being "taught" to show "sympathy" for "multiculture", among other things by paying higher and higher taxes, while in fact, they make the European workers powerless and calling every opposition against 50000 new immigrants/year in a country like Sweden (which would be like 1,500,000 new immigrants each year into the US, legally!) for "racism" and "neo-nazism".
