Wild turkey
« on: May 22, 2007, 10:49:00 AM »
Not the alcoholic beverage.

I hit a wild turkey on the bike Saturday.
It tried to fly over me but didn't quite make it and flew into the bike removing my turn signal in the course of doing so.

I stopped to check the bike and then returned to the scene to find a baby turkey standing in the road where it's mother was hit.....3 more along the side of the road. They all ran into the woods shortly after I stopped.

Mom turkey was nowhere to be found.....I hope she's OK.

Pic's of the carnage  (there's supposed to be a turn signal where the 2 wires are coming out of the stalk)

Yeah, ....bounced off a truck.....kinda sucked and cramped my style
Totaled basically new bike.
I walked away (VERY sore), nothing broken........never broken a bone in my life now that I mention it.

I'm gonna keep riding
I'll gladly take on a turkey over a truck any day.

You are damned lucky - especially with the truck.

how the fuck do you hit a turkey?

I'd like to think it hit me.

arent they slow? just how fast were you going?

Only when they want to be.....I was going maybe 40 mph on a fairly tight turn with the bike leaned over pretty good......didn't want to upset the bike mid-turn so I just plowed on though.
