When Genesis copied the online list, it caught Lestat's email address when the msn icon was copied, then DirtDawg quoted it. Not sure if Lestat cares or if it's a dummy email, but his email address is in Genensis' posts, and again quoted by DirtDawg.

If the email is in the MSN link, then Lestat has already made it public for all practical purposes. I'd be happy to remove it if he wants me to, but unless he gets rid of the MSN link, there's not much point to editing the post or posts.

First of all, I didn't read the quote in question until just now.
Second, I don't normally edit people's posts, regardless of their contents, unless someone else's rights are violated as a result of those contents.
Third, MSN links include the email registered with MSN. They are visible to all, including bots.

I see. The msn link isn't visible to anyone other than those who can view his profile, and of course the bots. Thanks anyway; will just keep bugging DirtDawg.

Dumb email address more or less, used as keepalive for IM networks, all it does is serve as a spam sink more or less. Very, very, very seldom ever checked.

They can see everything a guest can. Profiles aren't accessible to guests, and neither is the who's online list.

The thing to remember re online privacy is that bots can harvest links. If there is a link on a page, they can follow it. Or if it contains an email address, they can include it in spam lists.
