I've been fascinated with Mary Janes since I was about 3, that I can remember. And I always wanted a pair in every colour.  But the sound of heels...I couldn't wait to wear them.  My mother used to have to buy 2 pairs of shoes at a time, in case I grew out of one pair, so that I had the same ones again.
