Were you initially shocked that oil paints can be left on the pallette for weeks withought drying up?I thought that was kinda cool when I first used them.

I usually don't have much left on the palette, I do it pretty thickly. But I do love that you can go back a couple of days later and manipulate the paint a bit more. I love layering the varnish too...you know fat over lean, so you get a really beautiful lustre on it if you take your time with each layer.
Do you have any scannings of your work that you could post here?Sounds like you do a great job. I must admit I got a lot of pleasure out of popping the shell on oil paints left out, and getting to the fresh stuff underneith. Much like a pimple.

Although I did go out on Saturday to get some bargains and I wandered around for ages....I have to be in the zone and alone. I never go shopping with anyone, male or female, I get to focused on what I want to look at and frustrated if I can't leave when I want to.....such a caring and sharing person I am.Same here. I hate waiting on someone to leave and having to leave just because the person you're with wants to. My second BF feel asleep at a bookstore while I was there for four hours. Did the same thing to my mother at a Disney store in Paris and wore her legs out from standing and I was there for two hours and only bought a pair of 101 Dalmatians socks. Considerate eh? Then she made me wait for her to rest on a bench after I was done in there. You have any kids? If so, how old? No, do you?

Do you read fiction too?
I read tea leaves.
But I'm really enjoying oil painting...mostly abstract...I've tried out all sizes... from miniatures to large...I have a really big piece that I'm working on at the moment.
