jesus christ.  pay attention.

i think i have read enough of your posts to understand by now you are purposefully derailing the topic, with an act of being dense.

seems dishonest, imho.

I'm trying. And no, I'm not trying to derail anything. I just don't see why making
someone who is unsuitable for menial tasks do them is at all reasonable. Maybe
there's some unstated grand plan here, where every person is assigned their
lot by the state, but I'm not going to guess at that unless you say it.

Agree. I don't believe in that "All jobs are good and necessary even if they're crappy" theory either. I honestly don't see the point.

Yeah, but I feel like McJ is TRYING to tell me something different
from this. I just can't for the life of me figure out what it is. But
every time I accuse him of this, he protests mightily.

The largest Swedish union confederation is Landsorganisationen, or LO. The LO has almost two million members, which is more than a fifth of Sweden's population.

Trade union

But the coward mentality is still there. That union once made Sweden a modern democracy and got the labourers 8 hours work day, minimum wages, equal votes for all citizens etc. But it's all fucked up.
seems like all labour is fucked up these days.

but like is cyclical like a swinging pendulum.  perhaps it is time for labour to once again stand together.

perhaps if people get pissed enough at their lot in life.

though i don't see it happening anytime soon, because the state is appeasing the masses with handouts, which literally translates to peanuts.
Misunderstood.

You have a phoe-phobia? A real phobia?

Nah, just general social ineptness and hesitation.

Damn forums - I've been trying not to get in the habit of using psych-speak I don't actually mean, but it's obviously not working.
You'll never self-actualize the subconscious canopy of stardust with that attitude.

i thought i made it quite clear that i oppose state intervention.

menial tasks:
people still need to work.  we talked about the walmart greeter as being a menial task.  i stated that there are some people who may enjoy this job....like a lonely old man who lost his wife and needs human contact.
what about security jobs.  they are menial, but they are needed.  some people maybe enjoy reading. that would make this a perfect job.  or maybe even a stepping stone for perhaps a writer.  they get plenty of free time to hone their craft.
now these are just a few examples.  you don't need a complete essay to understand the point that maybe all jobs may not be suited for you, but their may be tons of willing people who could make the most of them.

the grand plan:

livable wages and dignity.
who are the people who create the wealth?  the people at the top of the organization.....who take an unfair percentage of the profits, or the people on the ground floor.....who actually produce the profits?
Misunderstood.

Won't work, unless you tear down the whole modern society. That's the bitter truth.

i believe that if people (the masses) get hungry enough then something will give or change.

the current problem is that people are comfortably numb.  and i blame the states socialistic handouts for this.
i blame common people for competing with each other over jobs that do not afford livable wages or dignity, rather than standing together, united, against the machine.
Misunderstood.

Gotcha.
One of my phobias/daymares is that the phone rings and it is someone I actually want to talk to.

Jimi Hendrix: When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace.

Ghandi: Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.

The end result of life's daily pain and suffering, trials and failures, tears and laughter, readings and listenings is an accumulation of wisdom in its purest form.

So, who chooses which job I'm suited for?
Let's take the me of 10 years ago. I worked
jobs similar to the security one - but don't find
it easy to do numerous things at once. So, while
I was doing these jobs, I was rotting.

It was (and probably still is) beyond my ability to
go out and solicit businesses for contracts on
web design, something that I tried in the late
'90's. The only jobs that I could get were just
these menial positions. And even these were
rather rare, with my spotty work record. I couldn't
get hired by a fucking convenience store (why do
you think I ended up in telemarketing?).

After NOT working for a while, it became much easier
to chase things that were of some potential value.
Hell, they didn't go anywhere either (I had to work
for them after all) but at least one could CLAIM that
I was bettering myself.

Is this all just living in my experience? Well, a lot of it
is, but a lot of my friends were in similar boats. Doing
crap ass jobs that weren't really necessary (outside of
this idiotic self-validation idea - and it sure the hell wasn't
validating them).

Many of these jobs have little or no value
to the companies which pay for them - the ONLY reason
that such positions exist is because labor is so fucking cheap.
You institute your ideals in anything like a free market - paying
out living wages to all, for example, and you're dooming these
very positions which you think so important to oblivion.

People are not getting huge handouts.
The fucking working poor tend to vote
Republican for Christ's sake. The little
scraps are enough. Revolution is not
worthwhile for those who have ANYTHING,
unless they are seeing their source of wealth
removed. Most such change comes from the
wealthy classes, and not the proletariat.

That problem is enormous, because the masses are always more or less ignorant. Instead of gun licenses and driving licenses, there ought to be voting licenses; ignorant and utterly stupid people shouldn't have the right to vote. They're responsible for those idiots and power-abusers getting into power in the first place.

have you ever considered teamwork?

maybe you are talented at one end of this business, where someone else is good at the sales.

common man helping each other up the ladder of success.  too many freelancers out there trying to do everything themselves.

not when the other labour stands together and says that it is necessary, or they won't work.
i am suggesting that labour dictates the rules, rather than the few, rich elite, who only put more and more profits into their own purses.

and, the market will create more jobs as others disappear.  just so long as labour remains united.

the people are not hungry enough, yet.  but they are way more in debt, and hungrier, than they were ten years ago.
